God does not create shy people.

You are not shy. Being introverted and being shy are not the same.

Shyness is not a personality trait. Shyness is not part of who you are.

Shyness is a fear of people and prevents you from being the person God created you to be.

The devil came to steal, kill, and destroy. Fear steals your identity; it kills your purpose; and it destroys your future.

Shyness is fear. Don’t accept it.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT)

You were created in the image of God. You were given a spirit of power and filled with the Spirit of power — the Holy Spirit.

You are not a shy person.

You may be quiet, but you are not shy.

You may feel shy at times, but you are not shy.

Shyness is not who you are. You are powerful.

Stop buddying up with shyness, and stop using it as an excuse to avoid doing the hard things God has called you to do.

Stop living by fear. Start living by faith.

When we live by fear, we avoid scary situations at all costs.

When we live by faith, we voluntarily step into scary situations in obedience to the Lord.

Living by faith is a daily decision: to trust in the promises of God and to obey the commands of God. It’s the daily decision to live in the realm above experience but under God’s promise.

Jesus said that faith the size of a grain of mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Stop asking for more faith. Start living by the faith that God has already given you.

If you have faith enough to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified, and resurrected three days later to save you from your sin, you already have more than enough faith to do whatever it is that God is calling you to do.

You don’t need more faith. You need to stop focusing on your fears and doubts. You need to activate your faith to begin to live by it.

Our Response: Putting Feet to Faith

Abide in Jesus (John 15:5). Meditate on His Word (Joshua 1:8). Submit your fears to God (Philippians 4:6), and trust in Him for courage, freedom, and peace.

The devil came to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to restore and give life.

3 Questions to Ask Yourself

  1. When was the last time you did something that scared you in obedience to the Lord?
  2. When was the last time that you took a step outside of your comfort zone for the good of others?
  3. When was the last time you shared your testimony and the Gospel with somebody?

Let’s get after it!
